Twitter Tech
What's all the fuss about Twitter, it's taken me a while to warm up to it but I think in today's fast paced society it's a quick way to see what's new and happening without have to spend hours. I posted some of my recent favorites from some of the biggest names in educational technology.

We now have a Chromebook in each of our elementary classrooms and a set of 12 in our library for students to use. The possibilities are endless and if we can teach them young then the possibilities for them are endless.
“We Never Use Pen & Paper” http://t.co/6aDorOUyK5 I loved this post when it was published and still do--a timely re-read.

I really love the term digital friendly in the reading, going paperless is just not an option in our district.

Twitter still makes me nervous since I still consider myself a newbie after more than a year. This is a great guide to help make it easier. There are so many tweets with great tech ideas that link to her blog posts. Check her blog out at The Daring Librarian
I love that we were all assigned that same technology leaders, but we all loved different tweets. I especially loved the one about pen and paper from @buffyjhamilton ! I love using pen and paper! I guess I'm old school because I still love writing letters and sending them in the mail. I really am one of those people who would rather take notes on paper than pull out my electronic device to do so. I also don't like when technology lovers try to convince me that my pen and paper are outdated!
ReplyDeleteThese were all really interesting, and yes, you could get lost for hours in the Twitterverse~ And I agree with Dulce that it's easier for me to write than to text myself notes. It's been shown that notes taken by hand help create understanding and recall. Check out LiveScribe, too!
ReplyDeleteI will have to check out LiveScribe, thanks!
DeleteI thought Linda's Guide to Social Media is a great resource for those reluctant colleagues. I got some useful tips.
ReplyDeleteChromebooks are a great resource for students, there's so much you can do with them. We began using these at our campus last spring, and I'm still learning new ways to implement them.
Twitter makes me nervous too. I am not sure why. There is just so much going on.
